Another death attributed by PAO to anti-dengue vaccine

(MANILA BULLETIN) PAO forensics laboratory director Dr. Erwin Erfe identified the deceased whose death is being attributed to the  Dengvaxia vaccinee as Crisa Mae Porcia, 15, a resident of Antipolo City, Rizal. Erfe said the PAO Forensics Team (PAOFT) conducted an autopsy of Porcia at the request of the family following the girl’s death last Dec. 14 at the East Avenue Medical Center in Quezon City. “She is the PAOFT’s 160th Dengvaxia case,” the forensics expert said. PAOFT medical specialist Dr. Alex Sulit said the autopsy of the girl showed that Porcia’s immediate cause of death was “cerebral hemorrhage and edema; pulmonary hemorrhage and edema.”

Philippines logs 1,156 new COVID-19 cases, Manila sees increase in infections

4:26 PM MYT MANILA, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) The Department of Health (DOH) of the Philippines on Wednesday reported 1,156 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection, bringing the total number in the country to 452,988. The DOH said 425 more patients recovered, raising the total number of recoveries to 419,282. The death toll climbed to 8,833 after 21 more patients died from the viral disease, the DOH added. The capital Manila is seeing an increase in the number of COVID-19 transmissions, Health Secretary Francisco Duque said, noting that rising infections in 12 out of the 16 Metro Manila cities. We recognize that the beginning of the (holiday) surge in Metro Manila is already evident. We can see it now, Duque told a virtual media briefing on Wednesday.
