WHO Team Set for China Trip; N.J. Honor System: Virus Update Bloomberg 1/11/2021
(Bloomberg)
Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE raised their Covid-19 vaccine production target for this year to 2 billion shots. The previous production target was 1.3 billion doses. A World Health Organization team of scientists is beginning a long-delayed trip to China to study the origins of the virus.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio reaffirmed his goal of doling out 1 million doses by the end of January. Los Angeles, the epicenter of the latest U.S. wave, will turn Dodger Stadium into a mass vaccination center to inoculate as many as 12,000 people a day.

Sotto, who is set to lead the Senate Committee of the Whole inquiry, was convinced that Duque was indeed at fault for the failure of the government to purchase from the United States-based pharmaceutical the first batch of coronavirus vaccines.
Sen. Panfilo Lacson had earlier revealed that it was Duque whom Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin was referring to when he said on Twitter last Tuesday that he and Philippine Ambassador to the United States Jose Manuel “Babe” Romualdez could have secured 10 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines from Pfizer but “someone dropped the ball”.

The death toll reached 8,833 after 21 more patients died, while recoveries increased by 425 to 419,282, it said in a bulletin.
There were 24,873 active cases, 84.7% of which were mild, 6.7% did not show symptoms, 5.6% were critical, 2.8% were severe and 0.3% were moderate.
Davao City reported the highest number of cases at 126, followed by Quezon City at 66, Rizal at 64, Bulacan at 56 and Manila at 38.
DoH said seven duplicates had been removed from the tally, while seven recovered cases were reclassified as deaths. Five laboratories failed to submit their data on Dec. 15, it added.
