Gov Mike DeWine extends curfew | News, Sports, Jobs

rfox@tribtoday.com Gov. Mike DeWine and the Ohio Department of Health extended the state’s 10 p.m.-to-5 a.m. curfew to Jan. 2, DeWine said during his Thursday coronavirus briefing. While there is nothing “magical” about 10 p.m., the time allows businesses to stay open to a meaningful time, but also reduces the amount of time for people to interact in businesses, potentially spreading the virus, DeWine said. The decision is rooted in science and based on the advice of medical professionals, he said. “If you can reduce contact, you will statistically reduce the spread of the virus,” he said.
