ISLAMABAD: The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) Saturday reported another 146 deaths during the 24 hours taking the total tally to 17,957.
The total active cases stand at 90,553. In all, 48,740 tests were conducted, while 4,696 patients were found positive showing a positivity ration of 9.63%.
Meanwhile, the Center banned Youm-e-Ali (RA) processions while allowing Majalis under strict SOPs, which are already enforced for the month of Holy Ramazan.
An important session on the conduct of Youm-e-Ali was held at the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), chaired by Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar.

Everyone who is eligible, should get vaccinated right away without hesitation, Special Assistant to the PM on Health Dr Faisal Sultan said.
In a video message on social media, he said that there has been conversation on the new variants of the coronavirus and speculations have risen if they can be defeated by the vaccines. All viruses go through a process of evolution over time, Dr Sultan explained. As a result, new variants and types of the virus keep coming up.
Out of the total figure, Sindh has received a total of 0.92 million doses of the vaccines.
The province received a total of 832,000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine,11,000 doses of the CanSino vaccine and 80,000 doses of the SinoVac vaccine.

The Express Tribune. As many as 15,723 shots were given to senior citizens whereas 1,829 were administered to healthcare workers.
Another purchased batch of Chinese vaccine will also arrive in the country in early May.
According to an announcement by Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr Faisal Sultan last week, Pakistan has purchased 13 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine from three Chinese companies and expects to receive them in the next two months.
