PHOTO: REUTERS MULTAN: More than 62,000 people were vaccinated against coronavirus during the first two days of a door-to-door campaign in Multan district. The campaign continued on Wednesday and will enter the fourth day on Thursday. According to officials sources, the government had set a target of vaccinating 40 per cent of people over the age of 18 in five districts of the province, including Multan, by August 14. In Multan district, over 16% of the population over the age of 18 has been vaccinated against the coronavirus disease. Teams had been formed to achieve the target of vaccinating 686,000 people by August 14.

Door-to-door corona vaccination for 5 Punjab cities planned

July 25, 2021 LAHORE: The Punjab government has decided to launch a door-to-door coronavirus vaccination campaign from July 26 in five cities of the province Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Multan and Rawalpindi to meet the targets set by the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC). The decision was taken in a meeting jointly chaired by Provincial Minister for Health Dr Yasmin Rashid and the Punjab chief secretary at the Civil Secretariat on Saturday. The minister told the meeting that the NCOC had set a target of vaccinating 40% of the population over 18 years of age in Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, and Multan, and 70% of the Rawalpindi population by August 14. She said that the number of vaccination centres in Lahore was being increased to facilitate more people.

The decision was taken at a meeting jointly chaired by Provincial Minister for Health Dr Yasmin Rashid and the Chief Secretary Punjab Jawad Rafique Malik at the Civil Secretariat here on Saturday. The senior member board of revenue, additional chief secretary (home), administrative secretaries of both the health departments, deputy commissioner Lahore, director general public relations and officers concerned attended the meeting while the commissioners and deputy commissioners of Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Multan and Rawalpindi participated through the video link.
