Louisiana Shatters COVID Hospitalization Record In the latest reports from the LA Department of Health, the state has beat it s own record of 2,069 hospitalizations in January. Now in the fourth, and most deadliest, COVID surge the Health Dept. report revealed the state currently has 2,112 patients in hospitals and 222 on ventilators. If that s not bad enough, there are 4,725 new COVID cases, 2,000 of those cases are children and 59 people have now died.  As the state experiences the worst COVID surge to date, Governor John Bel Edwards has issued a statewide indoor Mask Mandate that goes into effect on Wednesday August 4, 2021, until further notice.
