Mass Vaccinations Of Health Care Workers Begin In Arizona

Beck is an ICU nurse who has been working with COVID-19 patients. Drive-through events are underway in Arizona to vaccinate thousands of health care workers against the coronavirus. Two vaccination sites in Maricopa County opened Thursday. Three more are set to open Monday. Drive-through events are also beginning this week in Pima County. Gov. Doug Ducey said Wednesday that he expects all of Arizona s 15 counties will be administering vaccines by next week. 

Griffin Health administers first doses of COVID vaccine

December 17, 2020 991 Griffin has already started administering the COVID-19 vaccine to staff members and will continue holding vaccination clinics at Griffin Hospital for caregivers.  The first to receive the vaccine was Griffin Health Chief Medical Officer Dr. Frederick Browne. Per the State of Connecticut’s plan for the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines, Griffin Health of Derby will receive 975 doses during the first week of distribution. (WCSC) - A critical care nurse became the first Trident Health employee to receive the Pfizer vaccine for COVID-19 Wednesday afternoon. Anthony Sims, who has worked for Trident since 2015, received his first dose of the vaccine shortly after 1 p.m. Trident and Summerville Medical Centers began inoculating their physicians and staff members with the Pfizer COVID vaccine. Trident Health Chief Medical Officer Dr. Lee Biggs said more than 95% of the health system’s physicians have said they will get vaccinated as soon as the vaccine is available.

(video courtesy AdventHealth) A FedEx van carrying 20,000 doses of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine arrived Tuesday at AdventHealth’s Translational Research Institute, the crucial first step for Central Florida’s frontline health workers to get vaccinated this week. The coolers packed with dry ice were brought inside, and the tiny vials were placed in a special freezer that can keep them at minus 70 degrees Celsius. Starting Wednesday, the vaccine will be offered to frontline health care workers in high risk areas, including the COVID intensive care units, the emergency department and those doing surgical procedures.
