PM dismisses talk of Tobago shutdown

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley yesterday questioned the so-called “stakeholders” spreading speculation about a looming shutdown in Tobago.
Yesterday there was chatter among the tourism and business sector in Tobago that there would be a slowdown of the reopening of the country in light of the climbing COVID-19 numbers.
This, the Prime Minister strongly refuted.
Deyalsingh: Only one mixed vaccine dosage will be accepted as full vaccination

Health Minister Terrance Deyalsingh said yesterday that only one combination of mixed vaccines will be accepted as fully vaccinated, by people coming into this country.
He was speaking at the COVID-19 news conference yesterday.
“The only vaccine mixing to be considered to be fully vaccinated in T&T as per our policy is first dose AstraZeneca, followed by a second dose Pfizer and two weeks,” he said.

Opposition Oropouche East Member of Parliament Dr Roodal Moonilal is calling on the government to help T&T travellers who can’t visit certain countries due to COVID bans and due to their vaccination.
He said Bangladesh has banned T&T travellers and other countries aren’t accepting certain vaccines which T&T nationals have received and is calling for regional and international diplomacy to ensure nationals can visit such countries without problems.
