The Countess of Wessex has spoken of how a “huge weight” has been lifted off her mind after her elderly father received his Covid vaccine.
Sophie said her father Christopher Rhys-Jones, 89, was “full of praise” for the way he received the jab on Tuesday, during her appearance at a virtual nursing conference.
The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh were recently given their vaccinations at Windsor Castle, and the UK has now delivered almost five million vaccine doses to 4.6 million people.
IPOH: The Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital has urged the public to refrain from speculating over the death of one of its staff members.
Hospital director Dr Abdul Malek Osman said the people should respect the privacy of the deceased s family and not spread inaccurate or fake information. The hospital is saddened and expresses its condolences to the deceased s family and close friends. We will give our cooperation to the police who are investigating the matter, he said in a statement on Thursday (Jan 21).
A 39-year-old hospital staff member had fallen to his death at the hospital on Wednesday (Jan 20) at about 6.45pm.
The Government has been strongly criticised for refusing to pay student nurses and midwives, while sanctioning an €81,000 per year increase for the next Secretary-General of the Department of Health.
The cabinet will tomorrow consider Department of Health proposals to pay student nurses and midwives €100 per week for clinical placements during the Covid-19 pandemic.
