Travellers at a bus terminus in Bengaluru queue up to undergo Covid-19 tests on Wednesday BENGALURU: The government plans to deny access to free Covid-19 treatment to those who are refusing the vaccine, should they contract the infection in the future. The government had initially said vaccination is optional, but it is contemplating this move as inoculation coverage has not crossed 50% among healthcare workers a month on since the drive began. “The government is indeed thinking of such a move,” said Dr Arundhati Chandrashekar, mission director, National Health Mission, Karnataka, on Wednesday. However, no order has been issued yet and it comes just days after the government said February 20 will be the last date for all registered healthcare workers to take the first dose.
