Sarah Storer, the vice president of Storer Coachways, said the buses have been deployed statewide, from Los Angeles to Sonoma counties, and serves hundreds of patients daily. Backers raise more than $2.5 million in effort to recall Gov. Newsom
LOS ANGELES Backers of an effort to recall Gov. Gavin Newsom have raised more than $2.5 million, according to financial disclosures filed with the state through Tuesday. Political analysts say that’s approaching the minimum amount required to gather enough valid signatures to place the matter on the ballot.
Veteran Republican attorney Thomas Hiltachk, who served as the lead counsel on the successful 2003 recall of Gov. Gray Davis, said the groups attempting to oust Newsom need to raise a minimum of $3 million to $4 million total to be successful.
Tri-State hospitals report low number of staff out sick due to COVID vaccine side effects
While a small number of vaccinated health care workers have had to call out sick due to the shots side effects, officials say it s a quite low number and the majority have continued working.

As more and more Tri-Staters receive one of two COVID-19 vaccinations currently available, doctors are learning more about the side effects that could accompany the dual-injection treatments. Those side effects were strong enough for a small number of vaccinated health care professionals to have to call off work in the days following their shots.

The red, white and blue Patriot plane will take the health care workers down and back. Nick Duncan, director of emergency medical management at Tufts Medical Center, will be on board, too. Desperately needed supplies have arrived after the Patriots plane traveled to China to retrieve 1.7 million N95 masks.
“It is unique, right? They delivered the PPE that we were all talking about back in March and now here we are taking it to the Super Bowl as kind of a joyous celebration,” Duncan said.

The Steelers partnered with the NFL to send some local healthcare workers to the Super Bowl this weekend!
According to Steelers.com, Registered Nurse Justin Gossett (UPMC Mercy), Director of Maintenance and Engineering Pat Hogan (UPMC Shadyside), Respiratory Team Member Marcus Paxton (UPMC Mercy) and Director of Respiratory Care Services Breen Smith (UPMC Shadyside) got an an all-expense paid trip to Tampa for the game.
They were all nominated by their co-workers, and Dermontti Dawson shared the news with them in a video message.
The Steelers shared the video on Twitter with the caption These healthcare heroes came in for a meeting. They left with a trip to the Super Bowl.
