The country has been successfully running its National COVID-19 Vaccination Program since December 2020.
The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has announced the National COVID-19 Vaccination Program reached a significant milestone yesterday with 50.1 percent of adults in Qatar having now received at least one vaccine dose.
To date, 1,876,178 doses have been administered since the start of the program, with 1,137,843 people having received at least one vaccine dose, while 738,335 people (32.7) percent of the adult population) are already fully vaccinated with two doses.
The National COVID-19 Vaccination Program is progressing at pace.
The availability of more vaccines as well as the opening of additional vaccination centers has enabled Qatar to significantly increase the pace of the vaccination program since February, and last week more than 200,000 doses were administered over a seven-day period.

Qatar joins the International Council of Nurses and countries worldwide in celebrating the achievements of nurses on International Nurses Day.
Marked annually on May 12, the theme this year is ‘Nurses: A Voice to Lead – A vision for future healthcare’, which focuses on the changes to and innovations in nursing and how this will ultimately shape the future of healthcare.
Minister of Public Health, H E Dr. Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari, said, “The past year has been incredibly challenging for healthcare workers the world over and to the nursing staff across the healthcare system in Qatar. Nurses have been at the forefront of the fight against COVID-19 and the management of the preventive measures adopted by the healthcare system.
Children aged from 12 to 15 years are to be offered the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine in Qatar and the validity for quarantine exemption of all vaccines administered in Qatar will be extended from the previously approved six months to nine months in moves announced by the Ministry of Publish Health today.
The Ministry of Public Health has extended the vaccine validity for quarantine exemption and children aged 12 to 15 will soon be eligible to receive the vaccine
