Doha: The Minister of Public Health HE Dr Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari underlined that Qatar has witnessed stability in the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak for several weeks and has not faced a second wave of the virus.
The Minister pointed out that there are few cases of virus outbreaks that are mostly related to family, social gatherings, or shared places of residence, and this is controlled through effective monitoring and case tracking, warning that this does not mean that we are completely safe from the threat of the second wave.
During her opening address at the Qatar Health 2021 Virtual Conference, HE Dr. Al Kuwari told delegates that under the direction of the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani the health sector have worked with partners across government to deliver a comprehensive strategy to protect Qatar s population from the threat of COVID-
Travellers with chronic conditions told to register online

The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has said that travellers with chronic health conditions are required to register online to get a medical report to be exempted from hotel quarantine. It also said that quarantine exemptions are not applicable for arrivals from some countries.
According to the Ministry, if a traveller has one of the conditions listed in the vulnerable groups under Qatar’s Travel and Return Policy during COVID-19, citizens and residents must obtain a medical certificate by logging in to their account on ‘My Health’ portal that shows their health condition and entitlement for home quarantine when booking their flight before travelling abroad.
Hawaii nurses demand safe working conditions and PPE
The state of Hawaii is on the verge of a COVID outbreak as the Hawaii Department of Health reported 129 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, bringing the state total to 24,482 cases and a death toll of 322. Metrics compiled by rt.live shows that the state’s virus effective reproduction rate stands at 1.12 and warns that the state is on the precipice of a major outbreak. This means that every COVID positive person is spreading the virus to 1.12 people, making it the worst state after Washington, with a growth rate of 1.15.

MoPH urges parents to ensure flu vaccine shots for children

Doha: The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has reminded the public that this year is more important than ever to get the flu vaccination, especially for children.
“Children are more susceptible to flu. Protect your children from getting the virus, and spreading it. Get them vaccinated,” said National head for Children and Adolescent Health Strategy, Dr. Sadriya Alkohji.
“This year is more important than ever to get flu vaccination due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Changing seasons and kids interacting with each other in school may lead to spread of seasonal flu during the coming months,” she said in a video message posted by the Ministry on its social media accounts.
