An online portal will open this morning for people in their 60s to register for their Covid 19 vaccine. It ll initially be available to those aged 69, before opening to those aged 65-68 over the coming days.
A PPS number and Eircode is needed to register. Those in their 60s are mainly going to be offered the AstraZeneca vaccine following concerns about rare blood clots in younger people.
Dr Donal O’Connor from the Health Products Regulatory Authority is reassuring people, the vaccine is safe.
The HSE has tonight advised that all AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccination clinics planned for Tuesday should be cancelled after the National Immunisation .

United States vaccine manufacturer Johnson & Johnson is to pause deliveries of its single-shot Covid-19 jab in Europe pending an investigation of rare blood clot cases that have halted rollout in the US, it announced.
“We have been reviewing these cases with European health authorities,” the company said in a statement. “We have made the decision to proactively delay the rollout of our vaccine in Europe.”
