Covid Vaccine: Ireland join list of countries to temporarily defer use of AstraZeneca jab
Following new information received yesterday evening, the head of the PRA and NIAC, Dr Ronan Glynn said the deferral as a precaution .

IRELAND S Covid-19 vaccine rollout has suffered a new blow after the AstraZeneca jab was temporarily shelved due to reports of serious blood clotting .
Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronan Glynn announced that following discussions by the HPRA and National Immunisation Advisory Committee yesterday, the administration of the AstraZeneca jab in Ireland would be brought to a sudden halt.

The decision was made after four new reports of serious blood clotting in young adults following administration of the jab in Norway.
However, Dr Glynn said that it has not been concluded that there is any link between the AstraZeneca vaccine in these cases but that the NIAC made the recommendation as a precautionary principal .
