The Commander of Alaska’s largest military installation announced today that it’s easing-up on some of its COVID-19 precautions, effective at 5 p.m. Friday.
Joint Base Elemendorf Richardson Commander Col. Kirsten Aguilar says the decision is due mainly on successful efforts to slow community spread of the disease and the base’s ongoing vaccination program.
JBER Installation Commander Col. Kirsten Aguilar announced the lifting of the Nov. 9 public health emergency in a video posted to the base s homepage.

“These positive trends and your efforts to minimize the spread of the virus allow us to rescind the public health emergency and return to Health Protection Condition Bravo,” Aguilar said in a video announcement posted to social media.

Fort Campbell has issued a mask mandate for all facilities on the Army post to combat the spread of COVID-19.
Information released Wednesday said all personnel must wear a mask inside all facilities on Fort Campbell. People can temporarily remove their masks to consume food and beverages in dining facilities and food courts; while alone in an individual room or workspace; or while conducting physical training in the physical fitness centers.
The release went on to say that personnel conducting physical training will have a mask on them and that anyone not in compliance may be asked to vacate any facility on Fort Campbell.
