DraftKings KBO: Thursday Cheat Sheet

DraftKings KBO: Thursday Cheat Sheet Written by  This article is part of our DraftKings KBO series. Thursday s five-game KBO slate has several former MLB arms taking the hill, and while I ll primarily be staying away from targeting a couple of them, there s one that certainly shapes up as vulnerable. There are also some strong options in terms of one-off bats due to some other back-end rotation starters taking the mound. As customary, I ll highlight what I consider to be two of the safer pitching options at different price points, followed by some one-off hitters across the salary scale that could also prove profitable for cash games and/or tournaments. I ll then deviate a bit from the norm and stick to just one stack that I trust the most to potentially string some above-average offensive numbers together and pay off for you in tournaments.

Keeping Up With the KBO: April, Part Two | FanGraphs Baseball

May 10, 2021 This is Part Two of the April edition of my monthly column, in which I recap what’s been going on in the Korean Baseball Organization on both a league- and team-wide scale. In case you missed it, Part One provided a brief introduction to this column, discussed league-wide trends, then covered the Samsung Lions, LG Twins, KT Wiz, and SSG Landers. Today’s post will cover the remaining six teams. If you have any questions, feel free to leave them as comments or reach out to me via Twitter. Without further ado, let’s talk some KBO! Team Notes

DraftKings KBO: Sunday Cheat Sheet

DraftKings KBO: Sunday Cheat Sheet Written by  This article is part of our DraftKings KBO series. Saturday was supposed to be a very busy day in the KBO, with four doubleheaders set to take place after a quartet of games were canceled the night before due to fine dust making the air unsafe to play in. Unfortunately, the dust was still around, so all four of the early games were wiped out. Five late games were able to go through, with all the makeup games getting pushed back to Sunday.  The first half of each of those doubleheaders will be on Sunday s DraftKings slate, weather permitting, and they ll be joined by the day s lone Giants-Lions contest, which also takes place at 12:58 am ET. Note that both halves of doubleheaders in Korea still last the traditional nine innings, but the game will end in a tie after nine innings rather than heading into extras.

DraftKings KBO: Friday Cheat Sheet

DraftKings KBO: Friday Cheat Sheet Written by  This article is part of our DraftKings KBO series. Thursday s KBO action featured quite a lot of runs, with four teams scoring at least seven. The two highest scores came in the Giants 17-9 blowout win over the Tigers. Jun Woo Jeon grabbed four hits for the Giants, with Chi Hong An and Dixon Machado each driving in four runs. Elsewhere, Kang Nam Yoo s three-hit day and Andrew Suarez s seven innings of two-run ball helped the Twins beat the rival Bears, 7-2, while Suk Min Park s four-hit, five RBI day helped the Dinos beat the Landers by a similar 7-1 score.

Sunday Notes: Myles Straw Got Hit By a Pitch This Week

May 2, 2021 Myles Straw grew up a big Tampa Bay Rays fan and has been to hundreds of games at Tropicana Field. Much for that reason, he’s more than a little familiar with Brandon Guyer. Which isn’t to say that Straw emulates the recently-retired outfielder. Guyer reached base via HBP a bruise-worthy 85 times from 2014-2018, and he did so despite never getting as many as 400 plate appearances in a single season. The bulk of his plunkings came in a Rays uniform. When I talked to Straw this past Wednesday, he had played in 120 big-league games, all with the Houston Astros. He had never been hit by a pitch.
