EU foreign affairs ministers face calls for fresh sanctions against Russia

Russia was coming under attack from various fronts and also faced EU demands to cut back its troops at the border with Ukraine. Russia has amassed more than 40,000 military personnel near the Ukrainian border.

Before I begin I’d like to day something important. There is a new law the so-called “Hate Speech” law, that just passed the House and is expected to pass the Senate and become law very soon. It was originally designed to guard against discrimination of oppressed minorities but was soon recognized as a way for Israel to forever end any criticism of the state of Israel and Zionism. When it is law, this page, and many like it will be deleted from the internet as yet another mile marker of the infringement of truth and free speech by certain dual-nationals at the expense of true and patriotic Americans. Enough said.

Russia should not be facing any complaints over the situation involving blogger Alexei Navalny in the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), they should be referred to other countries, such as Germany, France and Sweden, Russian envoy to the organization Alexander Shulgin told an OPCW member state conference Tuesday. The aforementioned countries violate provisions of the Chemical Weapons Convention requiring states to provide legal assistance and settle all issues through dialogue and consultations, he noted.

On 12 April 2021, the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) released its second report investigating and identifying those responsible for chemical weapons use in Syria. The report concluded that there were reasonable grounds to believe that the Syrian Arab Air Force carried out a chlorine attack on eastern Saraqib on 4 February 2018. This is yet another example of the Assad regime breaching its obligations under the Chemical Weapons Convention.
The first report from the OPCW’s Investigation and Identification Team, published on 8 April 2020, found reasonable grounds to believe that in three separate chemical weapons attacks in Ltamenah in March 2017, units from the Syrian Arab Air Force were responsible for using sarin on two occasions, and chlorine on the third.
