Verano Accused in Lawsuit of Illegal Interstate Marijuana Trafficking March 12, 2021
Marijuana industry giant Verano Holdings of Chicago was named in a federal lawsuit filed in Colorado by state resident Nicholas Nielsen on Monday.
Verano Holdings currently runs eight cultivation facilities and 56 retail operations, with plans to expand to 76 locations in the near future. The company also recently went live on the Candian Stock Exchange with an estimated worth of $3 billion dollars.

CHICAGO A federal lawsuit accuses one of the biggest cannabis companies in the country Chicago-based Verano Holdings of violating the Racketeer Influence and Corrupt Organization, or RICO, Act by allegedly directing an employee to smuggle marijuana from Illinois to Arkansas.
According to the suit, company officials from Verano and several other pot firms conspired to set up a cannabis dispensary in Arkansas as part of joint operations between Verano, Arizona-based Harvest Health and Arkansas-based Natural State Wellness Enterprises.
A bill that would allow restaurants to expand outdoor dining without prior approval from the Arkansas Alcoholic Beverage Control Division and delay payment of restaurant sales taxes was filed this week in the Legislature.
