If there was any question about the 3A West boys soccer race this year, it has been answered.
The undefeated Green Forest Tigers dispensed all suspense Friday night by shutting out Life Way Christian 3-0 at Tiger Stadium.
The game was scoreless until late in the first half when senior Lah Kpro scored to put Green Forest ahead 1-0.
The Tigers put the exclamation point on their win with a pair of second-half goals one each from sophomore Tony Gonzalez and senior Emerson Ortiz.
Before the win over Life Way Christian, Green Forest shut out Eureka Springs 8-0 on Tuesday, April 27. Ortiz scored four goals, with Gonzalez, Elvin Montoya, Gabriel Holland and Alex Alvarez each adding one goal apiece.

The Green Forest Tigers got a bit of a challenge from Life Way Christian on Tuesday, April 6, but pulled out a 3-2 victory and went on to a big week.
The Tigers rolled past Arkansas Arts Academy on Thursday, April 8, winning 8-0, and then got perhaps their biggest victory of the season with a 4-0 win over Harrison on the Goblins home field.
Green Forest and Life Way Christian were tied at 1-1 at halftime of Tuesdays game but the Tigers got second-half goals from Bluh Doh Soh and Emerson Ortiz to take a 3-1 lead in the second half. Ortiz had two goals for the game.

Mr. Burrows has worked at the local, state, national, and international levels for more than 40 years. His appointments include K-12 public education, post-secondary institutions, governmental service, agency executive leadership, and community development. He most recently served as Director of Community Outreach & Engagement with The Historic Trust in Vancouver, Washington, overseeing successful services to the public to promote diverse participation in the past, present, and future histories of the community.
