MOUNTAIN HOME A body was found in a burned out car Wednesday morning on Old Arkana Road and by Thursday afternoon, three people were arrested on murder charges, according to a news release from Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery.
Skylar Whitney Brazil, 38, of Mountain Home, was booked into the Baxter County Jail at 2:23 a.m. on a charge of first-degree murder, according to electronic jail records.
Ryan James Lindsey, 27, and 38-year-old Allison June Beckham Cunningham were also arrested on first-degree murder charges. The pair were found in Brownsville, Texas and arrested by authorities there.
The case began Wednesday morning when a citizen called 911 at approximately 10:00 a.m. to report they d found a burned car in the woods off Old Arkana Road. Deputies responded and found the report was accurate. It was noted the car appeared to have been there for several days, according to the news release.
Governor Hutchinson received the final report from the Task Force to Advance the State of Law Enforcement in Arkansas today and shared its recommendations that the Governor intends to support during the 93rd General Assembly in January.“I created the law-enforcement task force in the midst of the civil unrest and violence that arose across the country after the death of George Floyd,” Governor Hutchinson said. “That national crisis led us to assess the state of law enforcement in Arkansas. We want to ensure that we are providing our agencies with the equipment, guidance and training, support, and compensation, that will allow them to perform their jobs at the highest level. Three people have been arrested and charged with first-degree murder after the discovery of a body Wednesday in a burned car south of Mountain Home.
Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery says the three charged are 27-year-old Ryan James Lindsey, 38-year-old Skylar Whitney Brazil and 42-year-old Allison June Beckham Cunningham, all of Mountain Home.
Montgomery says about 10 Wednesday morning, deputies responded to a 911 call and located a vehicle just off Old Arkana Road and what appeared to be human remains inside. Montgomery says it appears the vehicle had been there for several days.
