(KAIT) - Improvements are coming to one highway in Craighead County in the next two to four weeks. The Arkansas State Highway Commission awarded a $1,477,084.53 contract to Atlas Asphalt, Inc. of Batesville to resurface Highway 91 between Highway 349 and Highway 49 in Jonesboro. (KAIT) - For people heading to Jonesboro in the next few weeks, construction work could create some changes at a busy local interchange. According to a media release from ArDOT, the interchange improvements for I-555/Red Wolf Boulevard (Highway 49) project will start in February. The work will include the installation of new loop ramps. Officials said it will increase safety by eliminating left turns across oncoming traffic at Red Wolf.

The purpose of the project is to improve the Highway 16/112 Spur interchange of Wedington Drive and I-49.  It will include improvements to Wedington Drive between Salem Road and Futrall Drive, according to the City of Fayetteville.
