ASP investigating murders, 1 suspect in custody

Photo: Royce Calkins The discovery of two apparent murder victims inside a home north of Mountain View Tuesday has led to special agents of the Arkansas State Police being requested to investigate the homicides. The investigation has led to the arrest of a suspect in the case. Arkansas State Police were contacted by Stone County sheriff’s deputies shortly after the bodies of a man and woman were found at a residence on Chateau Pointe Loop off Arkansas Highway 87 shortly before 2:52 p.m. ASP says the victims have been identified as 64-year-old Ronald Calkins, who lived at the house, and 40-year-old Brandy Patrick, also of Mountain View. Their bodies have been transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory, where the state medical examiner will determine when the deaths occurred, along with the manner and cause.
