Butterball of Garner, North Carolina, says it will invest $8.7 million to expand two Arkansas turkey processing facilities, creating a combined 360 jobs over the next three years.
In a year when remote learning has become more important than ever, representatives of Entergy Arkansas and the Arkansas Department of Education announced a $482,000 grant that will be used to develop 20 new Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses that will be available to high school students and adults next fall.
âIn addition to affordable and reliable electricity, we need a good business environment, good transportation and qualified employees to help businesses grow if we want our state and communities to be successful,â said Entergy Arkansas President and CEO Laura Landreaux. âTo that end, Entergy Arkansas is proud to support these efforts with nearly a half a million dollars from the Entergy Charitable Foundation.â
Almost 11,500 companies across the state received CARES Act funds through the Arkansas Ready for Business Grant Program. The deadline is rapidly approaching for grant recipients to expend funds.Arkansas companies must use the grant funds received by Dec. 30. According to the program’s terms and conditions, companies are required to return any unused funds to the Arkansas Economic Development Commission.The list of eligible expenditures has grown since the Arkansas Ready for Business Grant Program was announced in May. Click here to view examples of qualified expenditures. These include purchases for sanitation, reconfiguration, marketing and other purposes.
Businesses are required to verify funds were used for eligible expenditures. The deadline to report expenditures to the Arkansas Economic Development Commission is Jan. 31, 2021.
