In her filing, she claimed that the pharmacy chain company played a big part in making the opioid crisis situation in the state worse. Rutledge accused Walgreens of rendering a large number of orders for painkillers, and most of them are suspicious. The lawyer said that this is a violation of Arkansas’ Deceptive Trade Practices Act. The lawsuit against Walgreens The lawsuit was filed in Pulaski County Court, and it was stated that the pharmacy did not do enough to make sure that the prescriptions are legitimate and not questionable. Arkansas AG Sues Walgreens over Opioid Crisis Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge on March 15 sued Walgreens, accusing the pharmacy chain of fueling the opioid crisis in the state by filling a large number of suspicious orders for painkillers. Rutledge filed the lawsuit in Pulaski County Court, accusing Walgreens of violating the state’s Deceptive Trade Practices Act. The lawsuit accuses Walgreens of not doing enough to safeguard against suspicious prescriptions being filled, leading to a large amount of opioids being distributed around Arkansas. Walgreens distributed more than 142 million dosage units of oxycodone and hydrocodone in the state from 2006 to 2014, according to the lawsuit.
