Rally Finland turns 70 with fast and furious itinerary
Rally Finland (1 - 3 October) will turn back the clock to celebrate its 70th anniversary with a high-pressure sprint-style event that recreates the spirit of the inaugural rally in 1951.
Nineteen special stages, including sections of the legendary Ouninpohja, covering 287.11km, are packed into two-and-a-half days. The opening two days each feature action in darkness.
Friday morning’s shakedown precedes an afternoon start in host town Jyväskylä. Saturday’s marathon leg features well over half the competitive distance, with the event coming to a high-flying finale on Sunday afternoon in the famous Ruuhimäki stage.

This week 81 teams move to the Iberian Peninsula for the fourth round of the World Rally Championship (WRC), the Rally de Portugal, the first gravel event of the 2021 season.
The Portuguese Rally was one of the founding events on the inaugural WRC calendar in 1973 and has been voted the “Best Rally in the World” five times. The rally returns this year, following its 2020 cancellation due to Covid-19 and promises to be an extremely challenging three day event with many of the early stages back on the schedule.
