Archie was posted to the official
Royal Family Twitter page with a message that reads: Wishing Archie Mountbatten-Windsor a very happy 2nd birthday today .
While the response to the birthday message was positive from many, hundreds admitted that they were saddened by the old photo shared and the fact that Archie s face isn t visible.
One person wrote: It is so sad that all the photos of Archie popping up on his second birthday are so old. If we are to wish him a happy 2nd birthday it would appropriate to have a current photo.
Others were incredulous over the old official photo used by Kate and William. You really don t have a single picture with him do you? one Twitter user wrote. Not one pic with your nephew other than a work photo? Prince Charles s post also came in for criticism for the apparent slight to the pregnant Duchess of Sussex. Rude!! He has a mother, said one commenter. I see Meghan is still being cut out of The Firm s family photos, added another. Several others pleaded with the royals to make up, encouraging Charles to pick up the phone and wish your grandson a happy birthday after Harry revealed in his Oprah interview that his father had stopped taking his calls.
Prince Charles dotes over Archie in poignant throwback to mark birthday of grandson he hasn t see in more than a year
The Prince of Wales hasn t seen his grandson in person in over a year after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved to America after stepping down from Royal duties in March 2020.

The Royal Family Celebrated Archie s Birthday Through Photos
Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, Prince William and Kate Middleton all paid tribute to Archie on his big day.
The royal family rang in Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor’s second birthday with lots of photo tributes, despite relationship rifts and reports of racist “concerns and conversations” within royal ranks.
Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, and new vloggers Prince William and Kate Middleton’s social media accounts all posted tributes to the little one as he turned 2 on Thursday.
“Wishing Archie Mountbatten-Windsor a very happy 2nd birthday today,” the Royal Family’s account said, alongside a photo of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry during the photo call where they introduced Archie to the world on May 8, 2019.
