The issue of preservation and protection of Nagorno Karabakh historic-cultural heritage has become part of peaceful settlement process, Armenia’s acting FM Ara Aivazian said today at joint news conference with Russian FM Sergey Lavrov in Yerevan today.
“In their April 13 statement the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs referred also to the protection and preservation of the historic-cultural heritage. We are closely cooperating with UNESCO expecting visit of the evaluation mission to the region in the near future and are hopeful that UNESCO will undertake practical steps to bring into life the mission,” Aivazian said.
The acting FM said Shushi’s Mother Temple was one of the biggest Armenian churches and it must remain the place of worship of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
