Kocharyan to lead Reviving Armenia-ARF bloc in snap elections The Reviving Armenia party on Thursday announced its decision to form an alliance with the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF, Dashnaktsutyun) party for the upcoming snap parliamentary elections, with Armenia’s former President Robert Kocharyan set to lead the bloc. “Taking into account the desperate situation in Armenia and Artsakh and due to the need to unite with ideological and like-minded political forces, the Reviving Armenia party has decided to run in the snap parliamentary elections with an electoral alliance with the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, which will be led by second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan,” the party said in a statement.

6 May in 18:00 Armenia s ex-president Robert Kocharyan will head an election bloc of the nationalist Reviving Armenia and Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF/Dashnaktsutyun) parties to contest the early parliamentary elections, scheduled to take place on June 20, the Reviving Armenia party said in a Facebook post today. In view of the need to act together with like-minded political forces, the Reviving Armenia party decided to take part in the early parliamentary elections in an electoral alliance with the ARF/ Dashnaktsutyun party that will be headed by the second president of Armenia Robert Kocharyan, ARKA cited the party as saying. The Armenian Revolutionary Federation is one of the oldest ultra-nationalist Armenian political parties.

Two ARF members summoned to Investigative Committee

Two ARF members summoned to Investigative Committee Two members of the opposition Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF, Dashnaktsutyun) party have been summoned to the Investigative Committee for questioning as defendants. Sargis Karapetyan and Taron Manukyan, the son of Gegham Manukyan, are set to appear in the Yerevan Investigation Department on Monday. Both ARF members slammed the move in public posts on Facebook. “They knocked on our door again. This time the notice was not addressed to my father but to me. As I have repeatedly said, you are further motivating us with criminal prosecutions. The struggle continues,” Manukyan wrote. Sargis Karapetyan called attention to the fact that they were summoned to the law enforcement agency on the day when the National Assembly is set to hold a special sitting over the prime minister’s issue.
