Lawyer: Armenian president must apply to Constitutional Court over interim PM-related dispute
Armenian President Armen Sarkissian must apply to the Constitutional Court to settle the dispute over the interim prime minister, according to lawyer Tigran Atanesyan.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced his resignation on Sunday to pave the way for the snap parliamentary elections slated for 20 June. Meanwhile, he stated that he will continue to perform the duties of caretaker prime minister before the elections, citing the applicable law and the Constitution.
However, many lawyers claim that Pashinyan is not entitled to serve as interim prime minister after his resignation.
