Society 14:01 05/05/2021 Armenia ‘We don’t want to live anywhere else’: People displaced from Hadrut hold rally outside Armenian Foreign Ministry People displaced from the Hadrut region of Artsakh on Wednesday held a rally outside the building of the Armenian Foreign Ministry ahead of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov s expected visit. Speaking to reporters, Chairman of the For Hadrut NGO Levon Hayryan unveiled their intention to hand over a letter to Armenia’s caretaker foreign minister expressing their complaints and requesting a meeting with him over the next week. He denounced the Armenian and Artsakh authorities for “insufficient efforts” towards resolving the issue.

Aivazian, Lavrov to sum up their talks at joint news conference Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will arrive in Armenia on a working visit on Wednesday, May 5. He is expected to meet with Armenia’s caretaker Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian on May 6. On the sidelines of the visit, Lavrov will also meet with Nikol Pashinyan, the Armenian Foreign Ministry reported.  Aivazian and Lavrov are set to hold private talks on Thursday to be followed by an extended meeting. The foreign policy chiefs of the two countries will sum up their talks at a joint news conference. Earlier on Wednesday, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that a wide range of issues of bilateral and regional cooperation, as well as partnership in the international arena will be thoroughly discussed during the meetings.

Other parts of the 19 th century church, commonly known as Ghazanchetsots, were covered in scaffolding. Azerbaijani authorities did not immediately comment on those changes. Karabakh’s human rights ombudsman, Gegham Stepanian, said they are trying to “distort” the appearance of the white stone church “under the guise of renovation works.”
