New Orleans Jazz Museum partners with four jazz clubs to present livestream concert with Banu Gibson
The New Orleans Jazz Museum has joined with four regional jazz clubs, from California to Maryland, to present an online live streaming concert headlined by popular singer-band leader Banu Gibson and a band of New Orleans jazz All-Stars. It may be the first-ever event collaboration of its kind by multiple jazz organizations. The concert will originate at the New Orleans Jazz Museum at the Old U.S. Mint on Saturday, May 15, from 3-4 p.m. CDT and may be viewed on
Brad Walker and Extended announce the release of their debut concert film, recorded at Esplanade Studios in January 2021. The film is the culmination of an ongoing collaboration between two of the most compelling forces on the New Orleans creative music scene: Walker, with a decade of award-nominated and nationally reviewed records, and Extended, which features three of the leading lights of the jazz scene in New Orleans: Oscar Rossignoli (piano), Matt Booth (bass), and Brad Webb (drums). This project is the result of their extensive work together during the Covid-19 shutdown, the culmination of which is this brand-new set of unique, compelling original music, developed in isolation during some of the darkest months of the pandemic.
In celebration of Mother’s Day, the French Quarter Museum Association is hosting a Mother’s Day Market in museum courtyards throughout the French Quarter on Sunday, May 9. The 1850 House, the Historic New Orleans Collection, the Hermann-Grima, and Gallier Historic Houses, the Beauregard-Keyes Historic House and Garden, and the New Orleans Jazz Museum have teamed up to host a variety of outdoor events. Make a day of it by seeing an open-hearth cooking demo at Hermann-Grima House, live music at the Jazz Museum or Beauregard-Keyes House, or take a tour in between shopping and brunching!
