May 6, 2021 The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority is rolling out a new fleet of buses. RTA unveiled 22 new buses on Wednesday with brand new designs to replace vehicles that are no longer working. The new buses sport a purple and gray color scheme, featuring the slogan let the good times roll in French. “Introducing the new buses brings the RTA another step closer to delivering a world class transit system New Orleanians deserve,” said Alex Z. Wiggins, RTA CEO. “RTA is excited to introduce our new buses into service with a new design and color scheme that not only reflects the culture of New Orleans, but also a new era of the agency which is now under local control and management.”

City of New Orleans to offer free or discounted rides to vaccine sites New transportation partnership ensuring New Orleanians can get vaccines By Nicole Mumphrey | March 16, 2021 at 10:33 AM CDT - Updated March 16 at 5:18 PM NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -The City of New Orleans Tuesday announced a partnership that will provide 20,000 free or discounted rides connecting residents to vaccine sites in Orleans Parish, including the mass vaccination site at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. The 20,000 rides are being donated to the Greater New Orleans Foundation for use by the City of New Orleans and LCMC Health to bolster their vaccination efforts.

Mass vaccination site to open at Convention Center The city of New Orleans is partnering with LCMC Health to launch a mass COVID-19 vaccination site at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. The site will open Thursday in Convention Center Hall J, a news release said. Appointments are required. Those who are currently eligible to receive a vaccine in Louisiana should register for an appointment by calling (504) 290-5200 or by going to patientportal.LCMChealth.org. Registration opened at 5 a.m. Wednesday. The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority will be providing free shuttle service to the Convention Center Hall J starting Thursday. Shuttles will depart every 15 minutes from Duncan Plaza, every 45 minutes from the West Bank RTA Park and Ride, and every 45 minutes from the New Orleans East Walmart.
