NEW ORLEANS – Applications are now open for the Port of New Orleans Clean Truck Replacement Incentive Program, which gives drayage truck and fleet owners who serve Port NOLA an opportunity to voluntarily replace older, inefficient drayage trucks with cleaner models. This is the third round of funding since the program began in 2016.
Qualified drayage truck owners interested in participating can learn more and find application information at http://cleantrip-portno.com. Printed copies of the application are also available at the Clarence Henry Truckway Circle Building and at the Port NOLA Administration Building, 1350 Port of New Orleans Place. The Port expects to replace a minimum of 34 trucks with this round of grant funding.

With zero reportable injuries and zero human-factor-caused derailments in 2020, Class III New Orleans Public Belt Railroad (NOPB) set a new safety record, “ the first time reaching this milestone for NOPB and a significant accomplishment in the railroad industry, which holds itself to stringent safety standards,” the railroad said. Port of New Orleans granted $1.2m for cleaner trucks

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced funding worth more than $1.2 million (£0.9m) to fund diesel emissions reduction programmes in the Port of New Orleans.
The funding will be used for the Port of New Orleans’ Clean Truck Replacement Incentive Programme (Clean TRIP), which will see the replacement of certain diesel-powered trucks at port facilities in Orleans, Jefferson and Saint Bernard Parishes.
At least 34 short haul trucks servicing cargo terminals and warehouses along the Mississippi River and the Port’s Inner Harbour will be replaced with cleaner models.
