PANAMA CITY With several police escorts, a helicopter escort, a water cannon entrance and hundreds of students and community members, the Bay High School cheerleading squad was welcomed back in grand style Monday after a national championship win.
The Bay High team won the Universal Cheerleading Association (UAC) National High School Championship on Sunday in Orlando. The cheerleaders competed at the renowned venue at Walt Disney World.
For the first time in school history, Bay High has captured a national cheerleading crown. In 2017-18, when the current seniors on the squad were freshmen, the squad finished third in nationals.

ORLANDO, Fla. Members of the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition spent their Sunday sending several messages to the people in the Orlando Community. They encouraged people to protected themselves with PPE during the pandemic, while also encouraging felons to register to vote.

Before leaving the White House on January 20, then-President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump received their first dose of the COVID vaccine earlier in the month, a Trump adviser said Monday.
The former first couple received their second shot while in Florida as private citizens. The adviser did not, however, disclose whether the Trumps received the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine.

A poll of grassroots conservative advocates gathered in Orlando Sunday had Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis favored to win the GOP presidential nomination in 2024 if former President Donald Trump decides not to run again.
DeSantis received 43% of the vote among those gathered for the Conservative Political Action Conference, or CPAC, the biggest event of the year in conservative politics. The Florida governor was well in front of South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, who came in second with 11% support, and Donald Trump Jr., who was in third place with 8% support. Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz both were at 7% in the poll.
