Wisconsin Rapids man dead after being hit by train WISCONSIN RAPIDS - A man in his mid-30s is dead after being hit by a train Monday afternoon.  The Wisconsin Rapids man was walking west on Chase Street, near the Riverview Expressway, when the train hit him at about 4 p.m. Monday, Wisconsin Rapids Police Lt. Joel Flewellen said. Fatal Pedestrian Train Incident in Wisconsin Rapids

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) — One person is dead after an incident involving a train on Monday afternoon. According to a press release from Wisconsin Rapids Police Department, officers were dispatched to Chase St. at Riverview Expressway at 4 p.m. on April 12th. The officers were dispatched for reports of an incident where a pedestrian had walked into a train. Upon investigation at the scene, Wisconsin Rapids Police Officers found a man who was deceased. They were also helped at the scene by Wisconsin Rapids EMS, the Wood County Coroner’s Office, and Candian National Railway. An investigation into the incident is being conducted by the Canadian National Railroad Police who have jurisdiction over the incident. No further information is being released at this time.

Commuter chaos: Long delays after multi-vehicle crash

News by Rachael Rosel Premium Content   Motorists heading southbound on the Pacific Motorway have been urged to seek an alternative route after a multi-vehicle crash in Greenslopes has caused almost an hour-long delay. Traffic is currently backed up for around 9km between Greenslopes and Suncorp Stadium with delays of 50 minutes or more expected. Traffic backed up on the Pacific Motorway in Woolloongaba. The crash shut the left lane at Marquis St on ramp and Pacific Motorway, leaving the right and centre open for traffic. However, cars are bumper-to-bumper across the Riverside Expressway with Coronation Dr and Hale St also affected. Major delays can be expected around Stanley St and Vulture St in Woolloongabba.
