Martha’s Village and Kitchen, an organization in Indio that serves homeless and impoverished families and individuals, will host a COVID-19 vaccination clinic Thursday.  Vaccines are available for those age 18 to 64 with underlying medical conditions or disabilities, individuals 50 or older, and all others who fall under phase 1A and 1B of the county s eligibility guidelines. The organization emphasized that the homeless population it serves is encouraged to participate.  The single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be administered. No insurance is required.  While staff and residents at congregate living facilities, including homeless shelters, were declared eligible for the vaccine in mid-March, until now Riverside County has largely been in the planning stage of vaccinating its homeless population.
