Kimberly Long s murder charge dropped by Riverside County District Attorney

A murder charge against a Corona woman who had previously been sentenced to prison after she was convicted of killing her boyfriend in 2003 was dismissed Thursday by the Riverside County District Attorney s Office after the prosecution  admitted they can no longer prove her guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. In Nov. 2020, the California Supreme Court ordered that Kimberly Louise Long, 45, should be retried after her attorneys successfully argued she did not have effective legal assistance during the trial that led to her conviction. Long who had been charged with murder after her boyfriend, Oswaldo Ozzy Conde, was found dead in her apartment had previously undergone two trials.

Police were at a condominium complex early Friday morning where there appeared to be an investigation underway. It was not immediately clear which law enforcement agency was heading that investigation. A woman was seen in handcuffs outside a unit at the complex. Beaumont woman suspected of running a brothel in Desert Hot Springs

A Beaumont woman was arrested Wednesday in Desert Hot Springs on suspicion of maintaining a brothel and solicitation of prostitution. Yanying He, 47, was arrested when the Desert Hot Springs police and Riverside County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force served a search warrant in the 64-000 block of Mission Lakes Boulevard, according to a press release from Riverside County Sheriff s Department. She was booked at the John J. Benoit Detention Center in Indio where she was later released on $2,500 bail, jail records show. During this investigation, no victims of sex trafficking were identified, according to the release.
