The frustration is bound to increase as people, expecting a major ramp-up, encounter a system tasked with not only giving people first-time shots but bringing back thousands already vaccinated for their required second doses of the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines.

Authorities have said the biggest problem right now is getting enough vaccine to meet demand. At current rates, it could be June before Californians 65 and over are fully vaccinated. And full vaccination in places like L.A. County might not be possible until 2022.
Dr. Paul Simon, chief science officer for the county Department of Public Health, said Friday that if weekly vaccine shipments were to increase to 500,000 doses, the county could potentially immunize 75% of its adult population by midsummer.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA After a difficult day Thursday for Riverside County residents who bumped into frustrating technology glitches while attempting to sign up for COVID-19 vaccination clinics, the county announced Friday it is opening more appointments for the vaccine.
This time around, the process might be smoother.
Riverside County will open appointments at noon Saturday, Jan. 23, for next week s no-charge county-operated vaccine clinics in Corona, Menifee, Beaumont and Indio.

The signup process will be the same: Residents who want to get vaccinated must go to the new Riverside University Health System-Public Health vaccine website www.rivcoph.org/COVID-19-Vaccine starting at noon Saturday to register for an appointment. Residents 65 years of age or older who need help registering can call 2-1-1.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA It was another frustrating day for residents hoping to get an appointment at a Riverside County-operated COVID-19 vaccination clinic.
Residents were allowed to sign up at noon Thursday to receive one of 3,900 COVID-19 vaccine doses to be administered at a series of county-run clinics, but all appointments were quickly taken.
During the sign-up process, the county s website crashed multiple times due to the number of people attempting to book appointments. Patch heard from dozens of disappointed community members who tried for hours to log onto the county site, only to learn that all appointments were filled.
