Energy Fiji Limited has confirmed that none of the areas in Seaqaqa and Dreketi in Vanua Levu have power supply because they are physically inspecting every metre of power line and safely carrying out repairs before it can be energised.
It says while this process is time-consuming, it is none-the less critical to ensure the safety and security of power supply.
10% of areas in Savusavu now have power supply while 9.5% of areas in Labasa have their power supply restored.

The Rotary Club of Peninsula Sunset collected $800 cash and 35 bags of relief items during their disaster relief initiative collection at the ROC Market in Suva, and donations continue to pour in.
Community Service Director Prashant Anuraag says the support from the people of Fiji towards the initiative has been tremendous and they are thankful that people have shown their support to those who have been affected by Tropical Cyclone Yasa.

87% of Viti Levu has power but extensive damage expected in Vanua Levu

EFL says they have restored 87% of energy in Viti Levu and their teams are working to assess the extensive damages in the Northern Division.
They say that they know that some areas are still without power in Viti Levu at the moment but people have to understand that there is a process to follow and it takes time.
The Statement
As Cyclone Yasa heads towards Fiji, a social media post claims the nation’s energy provider has warned that energy supplies would be shut down in advance of the storm as a “precautionary measure”.
The Facebook post from a Fijian user features a photo of a document bearing the Energy Fiji Limited (EFL) logo.
The post reads, “Dear Valued Customers, As a precautionary measure in the wake of Category 5 TC Yasa, that is heading towards the Fiji Group and depending on the route of the cyclone, kindly note that the electricity supply to the whole island will be shut down without warning a few hours before the cyclone’s effect is at the maximum.”

The centre of Severe Tropical Cyclone Yasa is located about 215 kilometres North of Nadi and it continues to track towards us.
Close to its centre the cyclone is expected to have very destructive winds upto 250 kilometres per hour with momentary gusts to 350 kilometres per hour.
The cyclone is moving East South East at about 19 kilometres per hour.
