ATLANTIC CITY, N.J., May 10, 2021 - South Jersey Gas, a subsidiary of South Jersey Industries (NYSE: SJI), encourages its customers to take full advantage of available energy assistance programs prior to the expiration of the moratorium on utility shutoffs, expected on June 30, 2021. With less than two months until the anticipated end of the moratorium, customers behind on their payments should know they have several state and federal programs available to assist with their utility bills.

Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP; also called “Regular HEAP”) – is a federally funded program designed to help income-eligible Ohioans with their winter heating bills. The program runs from July 1 to March 31.
Clients at or below 175% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines (FPG) receive a benefit in the form of a direct payment toward their main heating account. HEAP benefits are typically credited directly towards the eligible client’s energy heating bill beginning in the month of January.
Percentage of Income Payment Plan Plus (PIPP) Program – helps income-eligible Ohioans manage their energy bills year-round. The program allows income-eligible Ohioans to pay their energy bill each month based on a percentage of their income.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) â After more than a year of halting utility disconnections, Tallahassee families are at risk of getting their power turned off again as the City of Tallahassee s utility disconnection grace period has ended.
The City of Tallahassee says it won t disconnect every home with an outstanding bill immediately. Instead, they re working with people, asking anyone concerned about paying the bill to call and set up a payment plan.
However, once your utilities have been disconnected, you ll have to pay more than the outstanding amount in order to reconnect.

MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) With frigid temperatures among us and the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic, people may be struggling to keep their homes warm this winter.
“Parts of this program include paying for portions of your heating bills, we can also help you if you have a disconnect notice,” Minnesota Energy Assistance Program Director Michael Schmitz said.
The program can also deliver fuel or replace a homeowner’s broken heating systems.
