For years and years on end, India has awaited the arrival of Tesla and we are not exaggerating when we say that. For the longest time, we have had the company s boss, Elon Musk, assure us that the American electric carmaker s arrival in the country was imminent. Understandably, it had started to feel like it would be quite a while before the EV maker would formally foray into the Indian automotive market. However, the company has finally ended our wait and set up ship here. Yep, it had been recently confirmed that Tesla, Inc. was indeed close to formally announcing its arrival in India and now it has gone ahead and registered as a company in Bengaluru.
Tesla reportedly in touch with five more states to set up operations in India - Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa tweeted to inform that Tesla is setting up its R&D centre in Bengaluru to commence its India operations soon.
