health care providers will begin administering vaccine to those age 80
and older starting next week, by appointment only.

Vaccinations – individuals age 80 and above. This age group is the
first priority in the state of Ohio’s Phase 1B group. Only individuals
age 80 and above can make appointments at this time.
Clinics will be held by appointment only, based on vaccine availability.

LIMA Ohioans who are 80 years or older can start scheduling COVID-19 vaccine appointments, set to begin next week.
The first round of vaccinations in Phase 1B are restricted to Ohioans who are at least 80-years-old, a break with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine said is intended to prioritize the highest risk individuals when vaccines are limited.

Crandon Macklin said he felt “no pain” when he received his first dose of the Moderna vaccine at the Marimor School on Tuesday. The clinic, hosted by Allen County Public Health, was open to adults with developmental disabilities and their caregivers, who are part of priority group 1a in Ohio.

LIMA One-hundred fifteen Allen County residents with developmental disabilities and their caregivers received their first doses of the Moderna coronavirus vaccine on Tuesday, the first clinic of its kind in the area targeting developmentally disabled adults who at-risk for contracting COVID-19 in congregate living.
