Ohio health orders are going away

LIMA Ohio was the first in the nation to close schools in March 2020. The state is now set to rescind all but a few of its mask rules and health orders June 2, forgoing previous standards Gov. Mike DeWine said would guide his decision to eliminate pandemic rules as soon as Ohio’s case average fell below a threshold the state is unlikely to meet by Wednesday.
DeWine was heralded as a national leader for taking early action to slow the transmission of a virus that health officials knew little about.
Allen County’s mass vaccination clinic ends Thursday

Final mass vaccination clinic Thursday
• Allen County Public Health will holds its final mass vaccination clinic from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 20, at the former Knights of Columbus Hall, 810 S. Cable Road, Lima. Moderna and Johnson & Johnson will be available. Must be 18 or older. Reserve a shot at gettheshot.coronavirus.ohio.gov or walk in, no appointment required.
• The health department will continue offering immunizations at its main office, 219 E. Market St., Lima, on Mondays and Fridays. Homebound residents can call the Area Agency on Aging to register for a house appointment at 419-222-7723. To schedule a pop-up clinic, call 419-228-4636.
