J Swygart | The Lima News LIMA A Lima man alleged to have possessed a controlled substance that contained fentanyl in a bulk amount appeared in Allen County Common Pleas Court on Thursday to waive his constitutional right to a speedy trial. Jamere Austin, 27, was indicted by a grand jury in December for possession of a fentanyl-related compound, a felony of the first degree that also includes specifications for the use of a gun during the commission of the crime and the forfeiture of guns and money in a drug case.

Two men entered the store and one brandished what was later found to be a BB gun before taking $58.81 from the store’s cash register. LIMA One of two men who police say robbed the Lima Adultmart at gunpoint more than two years ago but was not indicted until August 2020 escaped jail time during his sentencing hearing Thursday. Damariante Dillingham, 25, appeared before Allen County Common Pleas Court Judge Jeffrey Reed for sentencing after pleading guilty in November to an amended third-degree felony charge of robbery. A grand jury had indicted Dillingham on a first-degree felony count of aggravated robbery. The weapon involved in the incident was later learned to be a BB gun.

Putnam Common Pleas Dylan Palmer, 19, Continental, pleaded guilty to failure to provide notice of change of address, a third-degree felony. He was given a 24-month prison term with credit for 63 days served in jail while his case was pending. Palmer was convicted of failing to notify authorities of his change of address as a requirement of his sexual offender status. Peter Lotzer II, 35, Lima, appeared for sentencing on a charge of having weapons under disability, a fourth-degree felony. He was given a 12-month prison term to run consecutive to a 36-month sentence imposed in Allen County Common Pleas Court on charge of aggravated possession of drugs, a third-degree felony. He was given credit for 190 days served in jail while his case was pending. The Putnam County charge was amended from a third-degree felony while charges of tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony; and unlawful possession of dangerous ordnance, a fifth-degree felony, were dismissed.
