A SCOTTISH care home company has expanded its portfolio after securing a £10.2 million funding package. Family-owned Avondale Care Scotland was supported in its acquisition of the Glenbervie residential care home in Falkirk with the loan from Barclays. The funds will also be used to provide facilities in its other care homes. The company also runs Robert Allan House, situated within Lister House, which offers specialist care to adults aged between 18 and 65 with complex needs. The business was established in 1987 by Allan Hendry, and is now operated by his sons Graeme and Adrian Hendry. It employs around 550 people.
