Sony thinks the PS5 shortage could continue into next year

Sony thinks the PS5 shortage could continue into next year Sony has reportedly warned that it could struggle to meet PS5 demand next year too. The news comes after Nintendo warned of possible Switch shortages later this year. Getting a PS5 is a rather tough challenge right now due to the ongoing industry chip shortage. But there’s bad news for those hoping the console becomes easier to find. Sony held a private briefing with analysts after reporting its recent financial results, Bloomberg reported, and it purportedly told attendees that PS5 shortages could stretch into next year. “I don’t think demand is calming down this year and even if we secure a lot more devices and produce many more units of the PlayStation 5 next year, our supply wouldn’t be able to catch up with demand,” chief financial officer Hiroki Totoki said, according to several attendees who asked not to be named by the outlet.

Report: Galaxy Z Fold 3 might not include an S Pen slot

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 3 with S Pen support in July. However, a new report suggests that the foldable will not have a dedicated slot for the stylus. The reported reasoning includes a focus on durability and a lack of physical room. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 may pack support for the S Pen, but it reportedly won’t offer a dedicated slot for one. A new report (h/t PhoneArena) from Korea suggests that if you want a stylus for the foldable, you’ll have to tote it around separately. Samsung’s reason for this decision is reportedly two-fold. On the one hand, there may not be enough physical space within the Galaxy Z Fold 3 for an S Pen slot. Earlier rumors suggest the third iteration of the foldable will be slimmer than its predecessors. For Samsung to maximize room for more essential components, it’ll need to forego the slot.

Pixel 6 processor: What to really expect from Google s Whitechapel SoC

Opinion post by Robert Triggs Rumor has it that the Google Pixel 6 will debut Google’s long-rumored custom smartphone silicon, codenamed “Whitechapel.” In other words, the Pixel 6 appears set to ditch Qualcomm’s Snapdragon brand for something built in-house with the help of Samsung’s System Large-scale Integration (SLSI) division. Those are the folks at Samsung that integrate CPU cores, memory, modems, and other integrated circuit components into a single silicon chip (SoC). Pundits have been quick to peg the story as Google finally taking on Apple’s processing dominance. Meanwhile, Pixel fans are already dreaming up the perfect silicon features to fit their perfect phone. As with all potentially major industry shifts, it’s important to take stock of the big picture, evaluate what’s possible, and reign in those lofty initial expectations.
