Daniel Jantzen, the Lebanon-based health system’s CFO, described its $13.9 million, or 2.2% margin for the first three months of its 2021 fiscal year as a “dramatic recovery” from losses that occurred earlier in the coronavirus pandemic, in a filing with bondholders late last month. The system previously reported an operating loss of $84 million on a total operating budget of $2.4 billion for the fiscal year that ended June 30.

The Lebanon hospital will pay a minimum of $1.7 million on its tax-exempt property next year as part of a payment in lieu of taxes, or PILOT, agreement OK’d by the Lebanon City Council and Board of Assessors. Both groups voted unanimously Wednesday night to sign off on the deal, which replaced a 2002 agreement that saw DHMC pay $820,000 in its first year.

COVID-19: Mt. Ascutney sees COVID-19 case cluster; Hanover Terrace outbreak hits nearly 90% of residents Published: 12/9/2020 7:20:08 PM The acute rehabilitation unit at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor, Vt., has a cluster of patients and staff who have tested positive for COVID-19. The cluster in the 10-bed unit includes three patients and four staff members, Otelah Perry, Mt. Ascutney’s director of quality, patient safety and compliance, said via email on Tuesday. The cluster was previously announced by Mt. Ascutney CEO Joseph Perras in an update recorded on Friday and posted to the website of Windsor On-Air. The first asymptomatic patient tested positive on Dec. 2. In addition to the seven people connected to the rehab unit, two other hospital employees tested positive last week.
