NEW YORK and MUMBAI, India, Feb. 10, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS), a leading global IT services, consulting and business solutions organization, announced the further deepening of its long-standing relationship with Amazon Web Services (AWS) with the launch of the new TCS AWS Business Unit (BU), a dedicated group within TCS that brings together the scale, technology expertise, and industry knowledge of the two companies to help enterprise customers accelerate their innovation and drive superior business outcomes using AWS.
Former AWS APAC professional services director Paul O’Rourke has joined Australian cloud services start-up, Digital Renewal (DigiRen), as CEO.
Over his seven years at AWS, O’Rourke moved from leading professional services across Australia and New Zealand to the whole APAC region. Prior to AWS, he worked for Accenture in their technology consulting business.
In total, O’Rourke has over 25 years experience leading cloud transformation and consulting practices.
DigiRen was founded in 2019, targeting the market for cloud operating models from commercial enterprise and public sector organisations.
Founder and CTO George Watts describes O’Rourke’s appointment as “incredibly exciting.”
Amazon Web Services CEO Andy Jassy told AWS employees there’s “still plenty of time” to determine who will lead the cloud computing division when he takes over as CEO of parent company Amazon.com this summer.
A 24-year Amazon veteran, Jassy launched AWS in 2006 and served as its senior vice president before becoming AWS CEO in April 2016. Yesterday, he was was named as the successor to Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos, who will be stepping down and taking a new role as executive chair of the company’s board.
Amazon made the announcement as part of its fourth-quarter earnings release for 2020 yesterday. The transition is due to take place in the third quarter, which starts July 1. Jassy’s replacement has yet to be named.

Amazon Web Services ended last year with its strongest quarter-over-quarter and year-over-year performance since its 2006 launch, putting the cloud computing leader on track for a $51 billion annualized revenue run rate.
