Danone s plant-based So Delicious Dairy Free brand has expanded its offerings to include shredded and sliced cheeses, as well as creamy spreads. The shreds and slices are available at some stores nationwide, including Target, Walmart, HEB, Hy-Vee, Hannaford, Market Basket, Fresh Thyme and Stop & Shop, according to an email from Danone. The spreads launch in March.
The new products are dairy, gluten and soy-free and are Non-GMO Project Verified, according to the brand s website and information from Danone. The shreds come in Mexican, Cheddar and Mozzarella styles. The slices are available in American and Cheddar styles, and the spreads are in Creamy Original and Chive & Onion styles.
Maple Leaf Foods and its wholly-owned subsidiary of plant protein products, Greenleaf Foods, has acquired a 118,000-square-foot facility in Indianapolis, Indiana, which will increase the production of Lightlife tempeh products to meet rising consumer demand.

The latest partnership to hit the food space between two companies is determined not to get stuck in the Stone Age.
Post Holdings, the maker of Fruity Pebbles and Cocoa Pebbles, is working with International Delight owner Danone to infuse the cereals into coffee creamer to celebrate Pebbles 50th birthday in 2021. The two creamers based on the cereal that was inspired by the modern stone age family, the Flintstones, will be available at retailers nationwide for a limited time.

Note that not all plant-based options below are equally healthy. As always, if you made your own burger at home from mushrooms and lentils, it would be healthier than a burger made with coconut oil at the store. Of course, no surprise there and the same will usually apply to the list below.
